The Weakest Link was an American game show hosted by Anne Robinson that ran from April 16, 2001 to May 20, 2003, based on the original British game show of the same name that ran from August 14, 2000 to March 31, 2012. In the game are eight players, who answer questions, and every round, a "weakest link" will get voted off the game by other players, while the last to remain wins money up to $1,000,000 depending on what the players have banked. The show also had several celebrity specials, where the players played for charities of their choice. In the celebrity editions, the "losers" would still recieve $10,000 to $25,000 for their respective charities.

On September 24, 2001, all six original Brady child actors (Barry Williams, Maureen McCormick, Christopher Knight, Eve Plumb, Mike Lookinland and Susan Olsen) appeared together for the first time after 20 years since "The Brady Brides" in 1981, on the Brady Bunch celebrity edition of the game, A Very Brady Weakest Link. Also present was Florence Henderson, and Robbie Rist, the actor of Cousin Oliver during the last six episodes of the Brady Bunch. During the introductions, Rist joked "I hope I don't kill this show too!" (a nod to the common misconception that Cousin Oliver killed the Brady Bunch)

The players' charities were:

  • AMFAR for Maureen McCormick
  • Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance/Sierra Club for Mike Lookinland
  • Zero Population Growth for Christopher Knight
  • Alzheimer's Association for Susan Olsen
  • Laguna Canyon Foundation for Eve Plumb
  • Sisters of St. Benedict in Southern Indiana for Florence Henderson
  • Los Angeles Mission for Robbie Rist
  • Lupus Foundation for Barry Williams

Round 1

The first round of the game lasted for 2 minutes and 30 seconds, and during the time, the players banked $13,000 in 6 chains (from Maureen, Mike, Christopher, Susan, Florence and Robbie).

For the voting, Anne Robinson asked: "Whose performance is decidedly ungroovy?"

Statistically, Maureen McCormick was the "strongest link" with 2 correct answers and Susan Olsen the "weakest" with 2 incorrect answers. Eve Plumb, Mike Lookinland and Florence Henderson also had 2 correct answers; Robbie Rist and Barry Williams both had 1 correct answer; and Christopher Knight had 1 correct answer and 1 wrong answer.

During the voting, Barry, Maureen, Christopher and Eve voted against Robbie, while Mike, Susan, Florence and Robbie voted against Christopher. However, in case of a tie, the "strongest link" would have the deciding vote, so Robbie Rist was voted off with Anne Robinson's commentary "You are not going to be allowed to remain and ruin this fine show as you have many, many other shows".

Round 2

During the second round, which lasted for 2 minutes and 20 seconds, the players banked $7,500 in 3 chains (Christopher, Eve and Susan)

The voting question was: "Who has butchered more wrong answers than Sam has meat?" (a nod to the Bradys' maid Alice Nelson's boyfriend, butcher Sam Franklin)

With 2 correct answers, Christopher Knight was the strongest link while Barry Williams with 2 incorrect answers was the weakest link. Mike Lookinland, Susan Olsen and Florence Henderson each had 2 correct answers, while Maureen McCormick and Eve Plumb both had 1 correct answer and 1 incorrect answer.

Maureen voted against Eve; Mike, Susan and Florence against Barry; Chris against Susan; Eve against Maureen and Barry against Florence (to which Florence commented "I'm never going to date you again!" (a nod to her taking 15-year old Barry Williams out on a pity date in 1970.) With 3 votes, Barry Williams became the second Brady to get voted off the "Weakest Link".

Round 3

During the third round lasting 2 minutes and 10 seconds, Christopher Knight banked $1,000 in the only chain of this round.

The voting question was: "Who is more lost than Bobby and Cindy at the Grand Canyon?" (a nod to Bobby and Cindy getting lost in the Grand Canyon in season 3, episode 2 "Grand Canyon or Bust."

Florence Henderson with 2 correct answers was the strongest link, while Christopher Knight with 3 incorrect answers was the weakest. Susan Olsen also had 2 correct answers, Maureen McCormick and Mike Lookinland both had 1 correct and 1 incorrect answer, and Eve Plumb had 2 incorrect answers.

Maureen, Mike and Florence voted against Eve; Eve and Susan against Maureen; and Christopher against Mike. Anne Robinson asked Mike, who was wearing a Hawaiian shirt, if he knew what "haute couture" was (Mike didn't), before Eve Plumb became the third Brady to get voted off "Weakest Link".

Round 4

During the 2-minute round, the players banked $12,500 in 2 chains (Christopher and Mike)

The voting question was: "Who would lose to Tiger in a battle of wits?" (Tiger was the Bradys' dog during the first 2 seasons.)

With 2 correct and 1 incorrect answers, Mike Lookinland was the strongest link, while Florence Henderson with 1 correct and 2 incorrect answers was the weakest. Maureen McCormick also had 2 correct and 1 incorrect answers, while Christopher Knight and Susan Olsen both had 1 correct and 1 incorrect answer.

Mike and Florence voted against Maureen; Maureen and Susan against Christopher; Christopher voted against Florence. With another tie and Mike's vote with him being the strongest link, being the deciding one, Maureen McCormick was the fourth Brady to be voted off "Weakest Link".

Round 5

During the round, lasting 1 minute and 50 seconds, the players banked $10,000 (2 chains from Florence Henderson, 1 chain from Christopher Knight).

The voting question was: "Who is making the Partridge Family look like a bunch of geniuses?" (Partridge Family ran alongside Brady Bunch on the same time-slot.)

Christopher Knight with 3 correct answers was the strongest link, while Mike Lookinland with 2 correct and 2 incorrect answers was the weakest. Florence Henderson and Susan Olsen both had 2 correct and 1 incorrect answer.

Mike voted against Christopher; Christopher against Susan; Susan against Florence and Florence against Mike. However, Christopher then changed his vote and with two votes against him, Mike Lookinland was the fifth Brady to be voted off the game with Anne's commentary "We've had enough of your shirt".

Round 6

During the 1 minute, 40 seconds round, none of the players managed to bank any money.

The voting question was: "Who, frankly, was not worth the cost of the limousine to bring them here tonight?"

With 1 correct and 1 incorrect answer, Florence Henderson was the strongest link, the weakest being Susan Olsen with 1 correct and 2 incorrect answers. Christopher Knight also had 1 correct and 2 incorrect answers.

Christopher and Susan both voted against Florence; while Florence voted against Christopher. Florence Henderson was the sixth Brady to be voted off the game with Anne's commentary "You should have let them play ball in the house." (a nod to Bobby's quote from Season 2, episode 12 "Confessions, Confessions": "Mom always said, don't play ball in the house.")

Round 7

During the 1 minute, 30 seconds round, Chris Knight, with 5 correct answer, banked $2,500 (which was doubled to $5,000). Susan Olsen had 2 correct and 2 incorrect answers.

Final round

The final round featured five questions being asked from the contestants, and the one with most correct answers would win. Christopher Knight answered 3 questions correctly, while Susan Olsen only answered 1 question correctly.

The game ended with Christopher Knight winning $49,000 for Zero Population Growth, while all the other participants still won $20,000 for their respective charities.
