Peter is so enamored with his heroics in saving a young girl's life that he throws himself a congratulatory party, but is humbled when no one shows up.
While in Driscoll's Toy Store, Peter saves young Tina Spencer from harm while the shelving unit she climbs to reach a doll collapses. A relieved Mrs. Spencer and Mr. Driscoll want to make sure the world hears about Peter's act of bravery by informing the local media.
Peter loves all the adulation, especially Mrs. Spencer's buying him whatever he wants at Driscoll's as a measure of her appreciation and his photograph appearing in a front page story, which later results in the newspaper's readers naming him Citizen of the Month, which also comes with a prize of fifty dollars. Peter, with a massively swelled head, believes that his proverbial fifteen minutes of fame will last forever. However, Peter's behavior may make his fifteen minutes end sooner than later.
