Marcia's diary gets mixed in with books for a charity drive, leading the entire family to search for it.
Marcia writes about her secret dream of becoming Mrs. Desi Arnaz Jr. in her diary, which is hidden away in the garage. She doesn't tell anyone of either its existence or its content. When a man comes to pick up boxes of old books Carol is donating to charity, Cindy finds the diary thinking it is just another old book and gives it to the man to take away with the other books. Marcia eventually learns what Cindy innocently did, and vows never to speak to her again.
Marcia is not only saddened by the loss of the diary, but horrified at the notion of anyone reading about her secret innermost feelings, especially about Arnaz. Marcia finally confides in Alice, a fellow diary keeper and writer, who can understand her feelings. Alice not only takes charge in trying to locate Marcia's diary, but also does something which may make Marcia feel better even if the diary is not found. She contacts Lucille Ball's housekeeper, and requests that the young Arnaz pay Marcia a visit.
