Short Summary[]
After snooping in her sister's diary, Cindy becomes convinced that she is soon to be discovered as the new Shirley Temple.
Summary[]
Cindy gets the notion that everybody in the family is talking about her, so she enlists the aid of Oliver to find what they're saying. To teach Cindy a lesson in reading her diary without permission, Marcia teases her, with some help from Jan, by creating fake entries about a Hollywood agent planning to discover Cindy and make her into the next Shirley Temple. Cindy becomes convinced that Mike's fussy client Penelope Fletcher is the talent scout, and Marcia can't talk Cindy out of this notion. Cindy shocks Mike with her impromptu Shirley Temple performance for Penelope, but Penelope is charmed by the act, ensuring that he will get the contract.
Trivia[]
- Besides Season 2 episode "The Tattle-Tale", this is the second of two episodes which Susan Olsen disliked. The episode was originally planned for first season, when she was eight years old, yet it wasn't made until Season 5, and at the age of twelve, Susan really felt uncomfortable playing a five-year-old Shirley Temple.
Recurring cast/Guest stars[]
- Robbie Rist as Cousin Oliver
- Natalie Schaefer as Penelope Fletcher
